Have you ever wanted to do an engagement session inspired by a movie?

This Notebook inspired engagement session at Cypress Gardens in Charleston, South Carolina is just what every girl dreams about! The Notebook has so many romantic scenes in it and of course the rowboat scene is one of the best. This engagement session though inspired by the movie, did not have have swans and beautiful string music in the background like it does in the Notebook but it was magical all the same!

We got to Cypress Gardens right at 9am and immediately walked over to the row boats. Did you know the row boat is included in your admission? It takes about 30-45 minutes to paddle through and thats if you don’t bump into any trees. LOL! I brought my cousin along to help me paddle the row boat and to help keep me from falling in the water with my cameras. Talk about a stressful situation! Michael and Grayson got in the boat ahead of us and we followed them through the path of Cypress trees.

After we got out of the boats, Grayson and Michael freshened up and we got some water because believe it or not the swamp in August is quite muggy despite it being only 9:00 am! We continued on with the session along the walking path until we got to one of the bridges. After taking some photos there, we made our way back to the front and got some truly beautiful photos, barefoot and all, under a stunning oak tree!

I am so glad Grayson and Michael reached out to me about doing their session and didn’t mind getting an upper body workout from the rowing. Check the beautiful images below!
