Flippen Park Engagement Session

This late Summer engagement session at Flippen Park was so sweet!

Rufus and Madison chose Flippen Park for their late Summer engagement session and I am thrilled that they did! We chose to do it in the morning as to avoid some of the Texas heat. Despite our best efforts, it was still 90 degrees at 9 in the morning but you would never know it by the look of these photos!

Rufus and Madison are getting married in Savannah next spring (my hometown) and I am so excited to capture their day! Madison is very much a “type a” person so I know between the wonderful team at Ivory and Beau and herself, the wedding will be quite the event. Originally Madison said they were only going to wear one outfit for their session and I am so excited she changed her mind at the last minute. I think having two outfits at your engagement session is the best way to showcase your personalities. They started out in a more formal outfit with Rufus in a suit, and Madison in a white lace dress and then they changed into khaki shorts paired with a white button up and a yellow romper. The yellow really was just the pop of color I had envisioned for this session.

When planning what you should wear for your session it is important to make sure you pick colors and patterns that coordinate well with your significant other. I am personally big fan of neutrals but do love a good color pop. Rufus and Madison chose their outfits well!

Flippen Park is such a good spot for an engagement session! It is one of the prettiest parks in the DFW area and is almost always promising to be green. As someone who came from Savannah and Charleston, I am always on the hunt for green spaces to do sessions. Flippen Park has quickly become a favorite of mine.
