Maureen and Jake wanted to beat the heat and the crowds for their August engagement session in Charleston.
So we decided to an early morning session!
Maureen and Jake reached out to me at the very beginning of August for their wedding early next year in Savannah, Georgia. We hopped on call that day and immediately hit it off. They took some time over the course of the weekend to think everything over and when Monday came around; they were ready to book! Which meant it was time to talk about scheduling their engagement session!
The following week they were going to be traveling to Charleston in August for vacation and luckily I had availability to do their engagement session during that trip! This was such perfect timing! They knew that the humidity was no joke here in the south. With it being the last couple of weeks of summer break that would mean busy crowds as the day went on which meant the iconic spots around town would be busier than normal. Jake chose to wear a blue suit with a navy floral shirt and burgundy tie which paired really well with Maureens white floral dress!
We started around Hibernian Hall with the beautiful marble checkered porch with the gorgeous pink wall of the Mills House Hotel in the background. We then walked around to the iconic other wall of the Mills House Hotel and got some beautiful pictures of them walking down and empty sidewalk.
After that we ventured down Chalmers Street and got some pictures along the cobblestones and on Church Street with St. Phillips Church towering in the background. This is one of my favorite spots for an engagement session! We also walked down St. Micheals Alley as there are so many cute doorways and walls along that street as well.
Pro tip:
When you inquire with me, I love to go ahead and hop on an inquiry call! This is where you tell me all about yourselves and how you met your soon to be husband or wife. I ask all kinds of questions that get you talking about your vision for your wedding day and what you are looking for in a photographer. This allows me to figure out how I can serve you best and if we are a good fit!
Then it was time for Maureen and Jake to change into their second outfit! This outfit was was more casual, I loved seeing another side of their personalities shine through another set of clothes. We took these photos down at White Point Gardens on the Battery and ended our session here! I cannot wait to get these two cuties in front of my camera again next year!
