Have you every thought about having your destination wedding in Savannah Georgia? Most people think you have to travel out of the country for a destination wedding but why would you go to the extra trouble when you can have the elegance and hints of a far off local right here in the states. Savannah is one of the countries most enchanting cities with its quaint streets and beautiful squares and not to mention the history!

Mandy and David fell in love with Savannah during a weekend getaway, and the city’s dark, moody charm became the perfect inspiration for their wedding day. With a guest list entirely from out of town, they embraced Savannah’s haunting elegance, choosing a rich color palette of burgundy and black accented with gilded details for their destination wedding.

Their love story began long before the wedding, when they first met during a venue walkthrough where Mandy worked. After crossing paths at various networking events, they finally decided to take a chance on each other. One date was all it took—after that, everything fell into place. When it came time to propose, David knew Mandy preferred something private, so he popped the question over a bottle of bubbly on their couch, a perfectly intimate moment for these self-proclaimed homebodies.

Savannah, known as the “First City,” carries an air of mystery and history, making it an ideal setting for their vision. Their ceremony took place at the Harper Fowlkes House, a venue they lovingly compared to Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion—only steeped in real history.

After exchanging vows in the garden, the celebration continued at Perry Lane Hotel, where the vibe shifted to an art deco-inspired affair with stunning rooftop views of Savannah. As a DJ and owner of Krieger Entertainment, David made sure music was a highlight of the night. The newlyweds surprised guests with a professionally choreographed ‘90s dance, followed by a special DJ set from the groom himself—filled with Mandy’s favorite songs, of course. The party didn’t miss a beat, with guests dancing under disco balls late into the night. And when the extra hour was added? Mandy slipped on her Vans, ensuring the celebration lasted as long as possible. They truly made the entire destination wedding here in Savannah, Georgia a full experience for their guests.

Mandy and David’s wedding day was truly a dream of a day to photograph. The couple chose to do a first look in the secluded but oh so beautiful library of the Perry Lane Hotel. We then drove to Forsyth Park and got some of the most beautiful portraits surrounded by hundreds of tourists and little dogs in costumes. These two really were made for one another and the opportunity to photograph in this season of their life will forever be one of my greatest honors.
