Highland Park Engagement Session

Dallas has no shortage of beautiful backdrops for an engagement session, but Prather Park, Arlington Hall and Flippin Park stand out for their timeless Southern charm. On a lovely day in Dallas, I had the pleasure of photographing an engagement session at these three iconic locations in Highland Park.

Dana wore a blue floral dress that perfectly complemented the lush greenery and soft architecture of the surroundings. The floral patterns in her dress added a delicate, romantic touch to the images, creating a whimsical feel. Jordan kept things classic and crisp with a navy shirt and khaki pants. Their choice of attire not only showcased their personal style but also worked harmoniously with the natural settings of both Arlington Hall and Flippin Park.

We started the session at Flippin Park, a hidden gem in the middle of Dallas. With its tranquil atmosphere and sprawling lawns, it gave the couple space to relax and let their personalities shine. The park’s wide-open spaces and beautiful trees created a more laid-back vibe, perfect for capturing the couple’s laughter and connection as they strolled hand in hand.

Next we moved on to Prather Park, a quiet retreat tucked away in the Highland Park area. With its charming stone bridges and winding pathways. Prather Park offered a serene, intimate setting that felt like a secret escape in the middle of the city. The couple’s chemistry was undeniable as they shared soft moments under the park’s canopy of trees and near the picturesque stone bridge and stairs.

Our final stop was Arlington Hall at Turtle Creek Park, a venue known for its grand columns, beautiful white facade, and manicured gardens. The Hall’s architecture gave a timeless elegance to the photos, adding a layer of sophistication to the couple’s playful, candid moments. Whether we were capturing intimate shots on the steps of the hall or more relaxed moments under the shade of the trees, Arlington Hall provided the perfect canvas for this love story.

What I love about these parks is that they are all within five to eight minutes away from each other with accessible parking. This allows you to all three within one session and get a lot of different backdrops. I always recommend the Highland Park area for engagement session if couples are looking for elegance, nature and some architecure.

Jordan and Dana are really two of the sweetest souls. They are genuine, soft spoken and kind. You can see the love they have for each other by the way they interact with one another. Documenting their engagement session allowed me a front row seat to the beginning of their love story. I am forever thankful that couples invite me into their story to capture growing seasons of their lives!
