This last minute Savannah proposal was so sweet and perfect! Frederic reached out to me on a Sunday evening on Instagram stating that he had just booked a last minute trip to Savannah with his girlfriend of 4 years and he wanted to propose while they were in town.
We messaged back and forth to come up with a location and time and after some time we came to the conclusion he and his soon to be fiance would prefer for it to be a more private moment so Forsyth Park in front of the fountain was out. Luckily, Savannah has so many beautiful squares and we settled on Lafayette because it also has a beautiful fountain but would provide a more private scene for this big moment.
We made the plan for Saturday morning and Frederic was tasked with telling Ashley to get all dressed up for breakfast and coffee. Mirabelle Cafe, located right off Lafayette Sqaure, is a local coffee shop and is the cutest little spot for a morning cup of coffee followed by a walk around the square.
Just like I do for any Savannah proposal, I go to the location early to scope it out and pick the perfect spot with the lighting in mind. When Frederic and I talked on the phone I told him to keep an eye out for a white “X” on the ground. I had put a “X” down in Duct-tape so he would know where to go but Ashley wouldn’t even notice it! I also had Frederic share his location with me so I could see when they were getting close and I could be ready.
After putting the tape down, I found a spot to sit and wait…
I saw them arrive at the cafe, go inside, get their coffees and come back out. They walked into the square and started to look at the fountain. I could see Frederic looking for the “x”. Once he found it, they put down their coffees and he started his speech. Thats when I came over from my hiding spot and started taking photos. It was a sweet moment watching them stand there with Frederic pledging his love for Ashley!
It wasn’t long before he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him!
SHE SAID YES!!!
Then we jumped into some portraits!
I always include a few black and white photos in my gallery, so enjoy these beauties!
