This styled shoot at the Mason Dallas is sure to make you dream of the perfect fall wedding. Traveling Shoots with Taylor put together the most beautiful fall photoshoot at The Mason Dallas venue back in October. This shoot had the perfect combination of luxury, modern, fall and fashion forward design. The Mason Dallas was built in 1920 by Herbert M. Greene who also built the Belo Mansion (recently renamed The Arts District Mansion) and has been redesigned to accommodate some of Dallas’s most luxurious weddings. The venue has so much to offer with gorgeous rich toned walls, natural wood flooring and beautiful furniture to compliment the space.
About the shoot:
We started in the parlor of the Mason Dallas with this stunning fall ceremony backdrop and bouquet designed by Vida Creative and the bride in a Barbara Kavchok bridal gown. The Olive 2.0 gown is the epitome of a statement wedding dress with the swag sleeves, pleats and cut outs on the sides and open back.
While the second group of photographers photographed the bride and groom, my group moved into the great hall to photograph the reception space and styled flat lay. The great hall features tall ceilings, with draped windows, a fireplace with stacked wood inside and a grand piano. The table was set with the fireplace in the background. I was amazed at the details from the place settings, the florals and extra little things all along the table to tie it together such as pears, figs, mushrooms and grapes.
After both groups had a chance to work with the bride and groom, Lauren changed into yet another gorgeous dress this one designed by Naeem Khan Bridal. This dress was covered in beading at the top and feathers at the bottom and floor length ribbon bows draped from the shoulders.
Afterwards it was time to do some direct flash reception style photos. Lauren once again changed into a shiny romper and we took photos of her and Ky in the stair well. This was a perfect way to end the shoot. Direct flash photos at receptions are a trend I see sticking around for a long time.
My experience:
Although this was my first styled shoot with Taylor and her team, I cannot stop raving over what a great experience it was! She takes the time curating an upscale look and really dives into the aesthetic of that look. If you ever have the chance to attend one of her shoots I would highly recommend it!
